Inspection Visit to Cassava and Bean Fields of TRADE SPHERE INVESTMENT COMPANY (SPRL) in Rumonge
On may 22, 2025, TRADE SPHERE INVESTMENT COMPANY (SPRL), a youth-led company specializing in the export of agricultural, livestock, and fisheries products from Burundi to international markets, organized an inspection visit to its production fields in Rumonge Commune.
The visit took place in Rumonge Commune, where participants had the opportunity to observe the bean and cassava fields managed by the company. This activity forms part of the company’s agricultural production monitoring strategy aimed at ensuring the quality and availability of products for both the domestic and export markets.
TRADE SPHERE INVESTMENT COMPANY (SPRL) actively contributes to the development of Burundi’s agricultural sector by creating economic opportunities for young people and local producers. In addition to its activities in Rumonge Commune, the company continues to expand its agricultural production initiatives to support food security and economic growth.
The inspection mission was conducted by a team from the Provincial Bureau of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock (BPEAE) of Rumonge, composed of:
- Mr. Raphaël NYABENDA, Head of Crop Production;
- Mr. Savin SABIMANA, Head of Training, Extension Services, and Support to Agricultural Professional Organizations (OPAs);
- Mr. Ernest NIJIMBERE, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
The delegation was guided by Mr. Gervais KWIZERA, Managing Director of TRADE SPHERE INVESTMENT COMPANY (SPRL), who presented the company’s various production activities and development prospects.
Regarding the crop performance observed on the visited sites, the planting densities applied were as follows:
- Beans: 80 kg of seed per hectare;
- Cassava: 30,000 cuttings per hectare.
This initiative demonstrates TRADE SPHERE INVESTMENT COMPANY (SPRL)’s commitment to agricultural modernization, food security, and the promotion of Burundian agricultural exports to regional and international markets.
